Aethon raises €9.6 million from Endeit Capital to combat labor shortages in essential sectors

Aethon, a leading provider of workforce solutions for essential sectors, has secured a €9.6 million investment from tech investor Endeit Capital. The funding will accelerate the development of Aethon’s workforce technology and expand its capacity to address persistent labor shortages in healthcare, childcare, education, and public services.

As demand in these sectors continues to rise, organizations are increasingly strained by staffing gaps, regulatory complexity, and fragmented supplier landscapes. Aethon tackles these challenges with a dual approach: deploying smart technology to optimize how workforces are planned, sourced, and managed, while unlocking labor potential through investing in the education of new workers.

“Many people are eager to contribute to healthcare and education but face barriers like a lack of training or flexibility to work when and how they want,” says Chris Kok, Managing Director of Aethon. “We’re removing those barriers — combining technology with targeted learning to ensure essential services remain staffed and resilient.”

At the core of this strategy is Aelio, Aethon’s all-in-one workforce platform. Aelio gives organizations full control over their flexible staffing by offering AI-powered recruitment, intelligent matching, real-time workforce planning, supplier management, compliance and cost management tools, and performance monitoring — all in a single, integrated environment.

“Our clients operate in complex, high-pressure environments. They need more than visibility — they need agility,” says Mitchell de Bos, Managing Director of Aelio. “With Aelio, they can anticipate demand, scale the right workforce at the right time, and make smarter decisions that reduce costs and improve continuity of care.”

Already in use by more than 100 organizations, Aelio is helping reduce time-to-fill, improve workforce satisfaction, and generate significant efficiencies — delivering value not just to employers, but to professionals and society at large. For workers, Aelio also simplifies the job experience by enabling more flexible scheduling, easier access to suitable roles, and greater transparency around pay and expectations.

The investment by Endeit Capital will help Aethon enhance Aelio’s capabilities, scale its reach, and further integrate AI across the staffing and training lifecycle.

“Endeit’s support allows us to deepen our technology and expand our impact at a critical moment,” Kok adds. “We’re proud to work with a partner who shares our belief in the power of human-centered innovation.”

For Endeit Capital, the investment reflects a conviction that the future of work in essential sectors depends on smart, scalable infrastructure.

“We back companies that help entire industries become future-proof,” says Martijn Hamann, Partner at Endeit Capital. “Aethon is leading the transformation of workforce management across Europe — and doing so in a way that benefits organizations, professionals, and the public.”
